App moderation

Each app is checked by our moderators for compliance with the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network.

Moderation stages and timeframes

  1. After an app is added, it's automatically submitted for moderation. Once you do that, an app with a unique ID and the Under moderation status will appear in the Ads in apps → Applications section of the Yandex Advertising Network interface.

  2. The mobile app moderation process typically takes no more than two days. However, it may take longer in some rare cases.

  3. After moderation is complete, you'll see a notification about the moderation outcome in the Notifications tab of the Yandex Advertising Network interface. If the app passes moderation, its status is updated to Active.

You can create and place ad units immediately after adding your app. However, you'll only get paid for impressions if the app passes moderation and has the Active status.

Why might the Yandex Advertising Network reject my application?

Here are the typical reasons why submissions may be rejected.

Deadline for submitting an application for re-moderation

The app isn't available in the store

The store link doesn't lead to the app page or the app has been removed from the store.

Make sure the app is available in the store, fix any technical issues, and resubmit it for moderation.

2. Click View next to the app name in the list.

3. Click Actions → Send to moderation. The button will be available 1 day after the last rejection.

Violation of ad unit placement terms

Placement of any inappropriate elements on an ad unit.

Make sure your ad units comply with the Yandex Direct ad unit placement terms of the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network.

How do I apply?

1. Open the tab Ads in apps → Applications.

2. Click View next to the app name in the list.

3. Click Actions → Send to moderation. The button will be available 1 day after the last rejection.

Low-quality ad traffic to the advertiser's resourse

  • An ad unit appears in the screen area where the user is about to click (for example, when switching to another app screen or closing a pop-up).
  • An ad unit overlaps the screen content, and it's unclear how to dismiss it.
  • The app offers a reward per click on the ad unit.
  • Ad units are preloaded, and their sudden appearance can shift content, causing accidental ad clicks.
  • Clickable app elements are placed on the ad unit, or the ad units are placed too close to the app elements.
  • Ensure ads are placed in a way that doesn't interfere with app use or cause accidental clicks.
  • Don't encourage users to click on ads.
  • Place high-quality and unique content that improves ad traffic quality.

Repeatedly blocked apps may be permanently rejected without further moderation or the option to add it.

The app doesn't meet the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network for other reasons

According to the Rules of Participation, Yandex reserves the right to reject any resource without explaining the reason behind the decision. For more information on when this rule can be applied, see the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network.

Review the list of potential issues and improve the quality of your app.

How do I apply?

1. Open the tab Ads in apps → Applications.

2. Click View next to the app name in the list.

3. Click Actions → Send to moderation. The button will be available 30 days after the last rejection.

If moderation identifies critical violations, Yandex reserves the right to reject the app from participation without the possibility of re-moderation (as per the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network).

Warning

Besides reviewing new apps being added to Yandex Advertising Network, Yandex may also perform re-moderation of existing apps. If re-moderation reveals serious violations, the partner's app or account may be blocked.

If your app was blocked due to invalid clicks and impressions, but you believe that it doesn't violate the Rules of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network, submit an unblock request. We will re-evaluate your app, but we cannot guarantee a different outcome.
