How APPS got 31% of its ad revenue in Russia from banners with Yandex Advertising Network

With a growing user base in Russia, APPS wanted stronger monetization in the region. So, the team added Yandex Advertising Network to their mediation stack, and the network quickly became one of the team’s top five networks, driving 3.5X more revenue for banner ads than others.

Challenges

APPS is a Türkiye-based mobile game publisher behind the iOS and Android title Drill & Collect, a casual mining and strategy game. It attracts a highly engaged audience in Russia.

To monetize this audience, the team had already set up mediation with several ad networks, alongside subscriptions and in-app purchases. However, ad performance in Russia remained below expectations. Fill rates were low, and the app captured a smaller share of ad revenue than the team had hoped.
